The permanence of motherhood reveals that regardless of the child’s feelings, they are expected to endure the relationship while ignoring the lack of shame in their mothers promised impossibilities. It is only when the vulnerability of youth no longer controls them, but instead creates a confrontation of failed motherhood, that they are forced to explore the simplicity of the abuse that caused their wounds.

As the child realizes the intentionality they deserved to have with their mother the anger can become encapsulating. It becomes apparent that the love they received was abrasively veiled with envy, manipulation, and detachment that they will always be tied to. When the child relinquishes their parent, the person viewed as the opponent shifts from the mother to the self. A new battle is created, as the child fights to not let the anger turn them into a limp figure wallowing in the fact that the women who controls the abuse also holds the title mother.
